Organic, Gluten Free, Dairy-free, Vegetarian and Vegan homemade backpacking meal options. Breakfast's, lunch's, dinner's, desserts and snacks. Precooked, dehydrated, seasoned and some freeze dried. 

These can be made using a resealable BPA-free plastic 'cook-in-bag' or just your mug or cup. I prefer and try my best to not use plastic as much as possible, but depending on the terrain, environment and location of the back country various options are not as convenient. If its local for 1-3 days with easy accessible water to use for cleaning I opt for the mug, but if doing 3+ days and it's bear country I usually go for the plastic. Do what you find best. 

This pre-made at home and ready for the trail, travel or even a regular work day is a super quick palate satisfactory and tummy happy meal. In less than 2 minutes of prep and two minutes of cook time try to savor it even though it's so good you might finish it in less time than it took you to make it! Especially the morning after a previous long days hike!

Start off with Natures Path Organic, Gluten Free plain 'Homestyle' flavor which is salt and sugar free. And this was and still is a staple morning breakfast for one of my clients whom was diagnosed as borderline diabetic and after we incorporated this into his diet just about 3 weeks later he was out of the pre-diabetic stage! Now you could just go with the various flavors they offer but I enjoy making up my own and giving it a super-boost!
